Another family has come forward to speak out against the care received where their loved one a patient. The nursing home facility is currently under federal investigation and is causing concerns among family members and the local community, in addition government investigators. The family has shared the experience of their loved one saying the patient received an overdose of pain medication.

Two former nursing home caregivers have accepted plea bargains in a conviction for allowing a nursing home patient to die after enduring below-freezing temperatures for more than four hours. The patient died of hypothermia after temperatures dropped into the single digits. Both of the former caregivers lost their licenses.

A patient wandered from a nursing home facility and was found dead. He suffered from dementia and was blind. Police were called to a body found in the grass overnight after the man went missing.

A facility cited for putting residents in a state of immediate jeopardy has been added to a nationwide watch list along with 21 other facilities. An advocate for standards in nursing home care says it is a “nursing home hall of shame”. The nursing home has been fined for nine violations cited in an unannounced survey inspection.

A former nursing home aide was arrested and is being sent to jail for up to four years. The aide dropped one of the facility’s residents. The 85-year-old resident that fell was a resident requiring complete assistance from staff for everyday things such as getting out of bed.

The daughter-in-law and grandson of an elderly resident who allegedly died due to the neglect of the nursing home where she was residing. Thirty hours before the resident died, her family took a video of the resident wailing in pain while the facility’s staff paid her no attention. The family pleaded and argued with staff to get the resident some relief from her pain.  However, after her arguing seemed to have no impact she became frustrated and left.
