A West Virginia woman is suing for poor quality care after alleging that she suffered abuse and neglect while under the care of nursing home staff. A lawsuit has been filed with the court through attorney representing the patient. She is seeking damages for all that she endured.

Two nursing home workers have pleaded guilty to charges for nursing home abuse and neglect. One nursing home worker stole prescription medication from patients. She stole more than 5,000 hydrocodone tablets within a three month period.

A nursing home owner is withholding air conditioning from patients saying it is not required to offer rooms at a certain temperature. The nursing home owner’s attorney states that the law requires a comfortable climate and residents can seek temporary housing elsewhere if uncomfortable. The same circumstance occurred last year, however, the owner only turned on air conditioning in the hallways at that time.

A woman whose mother suffered medical complications while under the care of a nursing home is suing for damages. The woman who was a patient at the nursing home facility suffered a bowel obstruction resulting in medical expenses, anguish and pain. The daughter is suing for damages.

A nursing home is under scrutiny after reports of nursing care concerns have surfaced through staff at the nursing home and department of health investigations. The nursing home has been accused of hiring staff without licensing, as well as staff that falsified records in other facilities out of state before working at the current nursing home facility. A nursing home lawsuit is moving forward after a patient was sexually abused by a dementia patient. The family is suing for damages based on the fact that the victim went into a depression, lost 30 pounds and died after the abuse occurred. The nursing home was fined $6,000 and cited for a violation of care.
