A nursing home faces a lawsuit due to claims of negligent care leading to the death of a patient. The patient’s family filed a lawsuit after his death. The family says there was a history of abuse leading to the demise of the patient.

A nursing home bookkeeper has been charged with a felony for stealing funds from nursing home patients. After helping a patient obtain a debit card to buy a television for her room, the debit card went missing and the bookkeeper could not produce it or say where it was. The patient also never received her television.

A nursing home admission’s director is accused of convincing a patient with dementia to sign over $12,000 for her to make a car payment. The worker has been charged with two felonies: exploitation of an older person and grand theft from a person 65 or older. If found guilty, she could face up to 20 years in prison.

A former nursing home caregiver has been charged with a double murder of two patients committed over a year ago. The investigation has been ongoing and led to the alleged insulin poisoning of three patients, two of whom died from symptoms of insulin overdose. The third patient showed the same symptoms of insulin poison, but managed to make a full recovery.

A nursing home patient has been beat to death by the very caregiver who should have been life-sustaining.  The patient suffered from dementia and vision problems.  He was beaten onto the floor and impaled with a table that was turned over. Police have charged the nursing home employee with homicide per the medical examiner’s report. The nursing home is part of a chain of 88 facilities with a history of poor staffing.
