Nursing Home Rating System Changes Made To Increase Accuracy

A five-year running nursing home rating system is changing its criteria after criticism was vocalized regarding the current system. The ratings have been based largely on self-reported data from the nursing homes. Ratings have increased with 36 percent of homes receiving 4 and 5 star ratings in 2009 to 65 percent of homes receiving 4 and 5 star ratings in 2013.
