A family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit for their loved one who died in the care of a nursing home. The nursing home allegedly allowed the patient to develop infections, bed sores, and dehydration without proper prevention or treatment once the issues were present. The family has contacted an attorney to represent the six children in the case for their deceased mother.

Government Sets Goals For Nursing Homes To Reduce Use Of Antipsychotic Drugs
The government is cracking down on nursing homes and the use of antipsychotic drugs to control the behavior of their patients. A goal has been set to require the homes to reduce their use by 25% by the year 2016 and 30% by the year 2017. The nursing homes are agreeing to the requirement at this point.
$55 Million Awarded To Families Of Neglect And Abuse Still Unpaid Since 2010
Two nursing home companies found liable for abuse and neglect in a lawsuit still have not paid the $55 million a jury awarded to the families and victims of the abuse in 2010. The nursing home owners are saying they do not have the funding to pay the award. The issue is that funds may have been transferred to a shell company to protect the assets.
