State Ranks in Bottom Five For Worst Nursing Home Care
A nursing home report ranking nursing homes continues to affect nursing homes nationwide. The report has helped to bring awareness and cause for response from states that have ranked low. A state in the bottom five worst nursing homes placed number 45 out of 50.
Nursing Home Placed On Probation For Allowing Physical Abuse Towards Patient
A nursing home is on probation for not properly handling an incident involving abuse and neglect. The home also failed to report the incident to the department of health. A patient suffered physical abuse as a result.
State Receives A Grade Of “F” For Quality Of Care In National Report
One state received a failing grade in a recent report analyzing nursing homes nationwide. The report graded the state with a letter grade of “F”. The report noted a lack of staffing, numerous violations and abuse and neglect for the failing grade.
Proposed Federal Law Would Require Registered Nursing Staff 24 Hours Per Day In Every Nursing Home
A new federal law entitled “Put a Registered Nurse in the Nursing Home Act” is being pushed to increase registered nursing staff from 8 hours per day in most states to 24 hours per day. Studies show that only 13 states currently require a registered nurse to be present in a nursing home 24 hours per day. The act would be a federal law to require the nursing hours from state to state.
Nursing Home Faces Numerous Lawsuits For Poor Quality Care To Patients
A family has recently filed a lawsuit against a nursing home that has recently been fined for not reporting a sexual assault. The fine was $36,000. The lawsuit is asking for $15,000 more in damages.
Nursing Home Patient's Body Found After Announced Missing From Facility
A nursing home patient’s body was found in a park after going missing. He was last seen at the nursing home where he was a resident. A police search team joined with the patient’s family and community members to find him.
