Lawyers, an investigator and a paralegal were congratulated and awarded for successfully working through the litigation process to win a case. The case poses a victory for victims of abuse in nursing homes. A nursing home administrator was found guilty for years of abuse and neglect.

A nursing home aide has been indicted for theft of more than $10,000. She was a temporary employee, but managed to steal a patient’s wallet and checkbook during her time of employment. Police check the account and noted $10,000 in forged checks.

A nursing home patient is missing from a nursing home. Police have launched an investigation and are asking the public to provide any information regarding the patient’s whereabouts. The patient was in a wheelchair and required a feeding tube.

Funding for nursing homes can be a challenge for most families. There are often questions as to what funding is available and how much it will cover. Recent studies show that 50% of men and 65% of women will need some type of nursing home care, meaning they will also need to know how to pay for it.

Nursing homes are projected to receive an additional $26 million in funding next year. The funds will come from tax payer money due to increased fees. The rates were noted to cover obscure fees.  The nursing home fee increase comes from a bill that was passed by state lawmakers.

A nurse at a nursing home is dead along with one of her patients after she shot her patient in the chest and then shot herself in the head. A lawsuit has been filed by the family of the man she shot and killed. The family of the patient who died says the nursing home should have dealt with the nurse’s strange behavior to prevent the incident.
