One town is working to bring extra cheer for veteran residents in a nursing home. The local police have created a gift drive. The gifts are to include books, board games, hats, gift cards to restaurants, and more.

An investigation is underway at a nursing home where a woman says she was sexually assaulted. Police are looking into the allegations. They detectives say they want to ensure the safety of the other patients in the home.

A woman was sentenced to 90 days of jail and 5 years of probation after pleading guilty to the mistreatment of a resident under her care. She plead guilty to injuring the resident after pulling her hair and pinching her leg. She allowed the judge to determine her punishment.

A taxi driver preyed on the most vulnerable clients to build his business. All the while, he was abusing them. His business card was the ultimate false advertisement, “Are you a senior citizen or physically or medically disabled – I can help you to be more independent.

A home has filed for bankruptcy protection after accusations from the State Department of Health. One of the safety violations noted a 12 foot extension cord with exposed wires in the room of a blind resident.  The home worked to improve the safety concerns after receiving the citations.
