A woman concerned with neglect of the elderly says that she was dismissed by a manager that was “abrupt and unprofessional”. A trial is underway and the jury has heard how one man and three women were said to be suffering pressure sores after a police raid in October 2011. The nurse testifying says the manager was not fully attentive to the residents. The nurse only worked at the home for 3 months, after raising concerns about the resident care.

A nursing home worker has been admitted to stealing $115,000 over the course of 2 years from a residents personal funds and the nursing home itself. The worker was let go due to performance issues and confessed to the theft her last week of work. Her job responsibilities included managing accounts of residents funded by family members for snacks and daily needs.

Nursing Home Administrator Fined Over Hiding Convicted Sex Offender History of Resident
A nursing home administrator was fined $500 for hiding the knowledge of housing a convicted sex offender. The resident allegedly sexually assaulted a 95 year old resident as a child stood watching and crying, “No, no, no!” The sex offender had been convicted on four counts of sexual assault of children and had been transferred from the state Civil Commitment Unit for Sex Offenders.
