A former nursing home volunteer came forward stating that she witnessed abuse inside a local nursing home facility. The volunteer says that on one occasion while she was on the other side of a privacy curtain; she heard slapping sounds and a scream. She also says that she was instructed by nursing home staff to alter documents and not to record patient complaints.

An assisted living facility that houses a small number of residents is closing because of repeated center probation violations according to The Department of Health and Human Services. The facility has faced numerous difficulties with meet guideline requirements. Most of the violations were from follow-up inspections to the facility that involved previous inspections.
