The owner has denied the allegations and claims the extensive camera system at the facility will reveal his innocence. According to documents from the department of health, officials determined there were extensive and serious violations of the state rules of assisted living facilities.
Home Caregivers Arrested For Violent Abuse of Autistic Patient
A mother is devastated after hidden camera footage revealed that her disabled adult son was being physically abused by caregivers. The footage showed the hired caregivers kick and punch the patient, stomp on his face, spit on him, whip him with a chain, and threaten and possibly shoot him with a pellet gun. The 31-year-old victim suffers from autism.
Nursing Home Resident Injured In Attack by Fellow Resident
A nursing home resident had to be hospitalized this week after she was aggressively attacked by another resident. The female victim was outside her room when a 53-year-old male resident went after with his wheelchair and knocked her down. According to a witness at the facility, the male resident wheeled the chair at the woman intending to hit and injure her.
Nursing Home Aide Charged With Sexual Assault of Resident After DNA Test
An nursing home aide has been charged with sexual assault of a resident after the resident presented police with DNA evidence on a napkin. According to police, the 68-year-old female resident is confined to a wheelchair and requires assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing. Investigators say the woman told police that she had been attacked several times by the employee and presented them with the napkin for DNA testing.
Nursing Home Resident Sues Facility After Bed Sores Require Above-the-Knee Amputation
A troubled nursing home has been sued by a patient who had to have a partial leg amputation after he was neglected at the facility. The 49-year-old man who suffers from right-sided paralysis developed multiple bed sores (also known as pressure sores, pressure ulcers, decubitus sores, and decubitus ulcers) while at the facility. According to the lawsuit, one of the sores on the man’s heel became so infected it required him to have part of his leg removed.
Coroner Investigates Patient Who was Found Dead in Nursing Home Many Hours After Death
The County Coroner has opened an investigation into the death of a nursing home patient who died unexpectedly last month. The patient, 58, had been at the facility for three months. According to officials, the man had been dead for several hours when staff at the facility found him in a state of full rigor mortis.
