Couple Dead After Nursing Home Murder-Suicide

Police have confirmed that the shooting that killed two elderly people in a nursing home this week was a murder suicide.  The man and woman who were shot Friday were husband and wife. The man was a frequent visitor to the facility where his wife had been living. A friend of the husband contacted the police Friday afternoon to say that the man was acting strangely and had planned to visit his wife at the facility.

Police Investigate Nursing Home After Resident Hospitalized With Severe Pressure Ulcers

Police and officials from the Department of Children and Families have begun investigating a health and rehab center after accusations of elder neglect surfaced. The investigation was prompted by the hospitalization of a resident at the facility. Nurses at the hospital contacted police to report that an elderly man had arrived with severe pressure ulcers (also knows as bed sores, pressure sores, decubitus sores, and decubitus ulcers).

Police Arrest Assisted Living Facility Resident For Stabbing Death of Fellow Resident

Police have charged a 68-year-old man with the stabbing death of his neighbor in an assisted living facility. The suspect, who called 911 moments after the incident, told the dispatcher, “I just stabbed someone in the neck.” When police arrived, a trail of blood in the hallway from the other resident’s room lead them to his collapsed body. The suspect told police he killed the man because he was wearing a red hat and had placed a flower on his door.
