According to police, two residents of an assisted living facility have died and four others were hospitalized after their caregiver fed them soup made with wild mushrooms. Police who responded to the call from the facility have stated that there was no foul play and the poisoning was accidental. According to officials, the caregiver who prepared the meal with the mushrooms was among the six people sickened.
Two Male Nurses Caught On Camera Sexually Assaulting 98-Year-Old Patient
Two male nurses are being investigated after they were caught on camera fondling a 98-year-old stroke victim in her home. The footage, caught on a security camera in March 2011, shows the two male nurses apparently masturbating and groping each other at the foot of the 98-year-old patient’s bed, as the patient lies unable to speak or move her hands because of a stroke. Video footage also revealed one of the nurses apparently undoing his scrubs, exposing himself, and kissing the woman.
Assisted Living Facility Employee Sentenced to Life in Prison for Smothering Elderly Woman
A former assisted living facility employee has been sentenced to life in prison after she murdered an 82-year-old resident who she had been stealing checks from. The elderly resident was found dead in her shower at the facility in November 2011. According to police, they had been called to the facility the day before the murder because the resident reported someone had stolen her checks.

State investigators have concluded that an aide at one nursing home sexually assaulted a female resident twice in one evening. The facility contests the allegations, claiming that the resident is not “credible.” The resident, who is in her mid-50’s, has been diagnosed with multiple mental disorders including schizophrenia. The nursing home administrator also said the woman has made multiple similar unfounded allegations in the past.

Nursing Assistant in Jail After Slapping and Choking Elderly Nursing Home Resident
According to police, a man is in jail after being accused of choking and slapping a 92-year-old man at a nursing home late last month. A judge ordered the former nursing home employee held on $100,000 bail, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The 51-year-old nursing assistant is charged with aggravated battery to a senior citizen.
