A caretaker who was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of embezzling $60,000 from an elderly woman’s checking account has pleaded not guilty to 16 felony charges, according to the district attorney’s office. A man who disappeared from a nursing home Monday evening has been found. Investigators say the 68-year-old man walked away from the nursing home around 7 p.m. Monday.

Police have arrested a woman who claimed to provide home health care for the elderly. The woman, 40, was booked into jail on four counts of fraud, two counts of credit card fraud and one count of elder abuse following a two-week investigation. Police began the investigation after being called by the family of an 86-year-old woman who noticed problems with her bank account last month.

A former nursing home employee is now behind bars after being accused of sexually assaulting a resident at the facility. The 53-year-old was arrested by police for two counts of sexual assault. According to officials, a resident of the facility accused the employee of the abuse in May.
