Nursing Home Office Manager Charged with Theft of $21,000 from Facility and its Residents

According to officials, the former office manager of a nursing home stole more than $21,000 from patient trust fund accounts at the facility. The office manager pleaded not guilty this week in court and was released on bail. She is being charged with third-degree grand larceny, third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and first-degree falsifying business records.

Nursing Home Resident Received “Blow to the Head” According to Employees

Police are investigating a case of alleged elder abuse after they were contacted by a nursing home about an 86-year-old resident found with injuries to her head. The nursing home also called the woman’s daughter and told her that her mother had “taken a blow to the head.” The daughter believes her mother was punched in the head by an employee. Police and the facility are both completing investigations of the incident.
