Nurse's Aide Charged with Invasion of Nursing Home Resident's Privacy
A certified nurse’s assistant and her friend have been charged with invasion of privacy after allegedly posting a photograph of a resident’s genitalia to Facebook, the state Attorney General’s Office said this week. The CNA, 26, allegedly used her cell phone to take the photo, which she then sent to her friend. The friend posted it to her Facebook page.

The Department of Health issued a final inspection report this week detailing findings of poor care at one nursing home. Nursing Home May Lose License After Meth Lab at Facility Erupted into Fire
The nursing home where one person died earlier this month after a a fire erupted in a meth lab located at the facility, has been cited for violations by the Department of Health. According to police, the individual killed was not a resident or an employee at the facility. Six others were treated for various injuries relating to the fire.

Caregiver Arrested After Stealing Over $50,000 From Elderly Client
Police have arrested a young woman on suspicion of stealing more than $53,000 from an elderly man who hired her as his caregiver. The woman, 21, was booked into jail on charges of felony embezzlement, forgery, and financial elder abuse by a caregiver. The woman had been caring for the 71-year-old man, who suffers from a condition that renders sufferers unable to coordinate their muscle movements, but police said he is of sound mind.

One state is in a losing battle to eliminate Clostridium difficile (“C. Diff”), a gastrointestinal bacteria that most often strikes people who are both taking antibiotics and receiving medical treatment. C-Diff is linked to 14,000 deaths each year nationwide, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
