Jury Finds Nursing Home Negligent in Elderly Woman's Fall Death

A jury come to a decision this week against a company accused of doing too little to prevent a 92-year-old woman’s fatal fall at a nursing home. According to authorities, in October 2004, the elderly woman slipped away from a group of residents at the facility. Investigators Determine Nursing Home Neglected Malnourished Resident

A nursing home has been charged with neglect  after state health officials investigated a resident who died after being hospitalized for dramatic weight loss. Investigators determined the man’s weight loss and nutrition were not monitored for two months at the facility. Governor Proposes Legislation Regarding Sex Offendors in Nursing Homes

In one state, the Governor has introduced a bill that would require residential care facilities in the state to issue notifications when registered sex offenders become residents of the facility. In addition, the bill would require such facilities to develop a safety plan regarding visitor, staff and other residents interactions with sex offenders.
