One local news station has discovered that a nursing home has been operating with no running water after a concerned family member called and reported problems at the facility. The family reported noticing employees carrying jugs of water at the facility. Management confirms the water has been turned off for over a week.

According to police, the victim was in a wheelchair when he accessed a stairwell and plummeted to his death. According to a frequent visitor of the facility, the doors that lead to the staircases are supposed to remain locked.

The State Department of Health Services has opened an investigation into the death of a patient who was reported missing from the a nursing home one month ago and found last weekend in a river. A hunter found the body of  43-year-old, about 8:35 a.m. Sunday, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

A state investigation has determined that an elderly nursing home resident in died following an overdose of prescribed anti-anxiety medication. Investigators found that the man was not given his crucial anxiety drug for 10 days — then got 10 times the prescribed dosage all in one day. State investigators concluded that the nursing home was to blame for the medication missteps that preceded the man’s death.

According to a state investigation released last week, two nursing assistants required retraining after they failed to properly strap an elderly nursing home resident into a mechanical lift, which led to the woman being dropped and suffering fatal head injuries. According to the investigation, the two assistants admitted to not crossing the straps below the elderly woman’s thighs before activating the lift. She fell from the lift and struck her head on the lift’s metal frame.
