Police are searching for a severely brain-damaged nursing home resident who went missing last week. According to police, the facility reported 32-year-old man missing on a week ago. Although called a nursing home, the residence is classified by the state as a personal-care home.

A woman who works at a nursing home has been accused of attacking an elderly woman at a restaurant. The woman allegedly went after the 72-year-old victim, after the senior told her to stop being rude to a waitress. The 32-year-old, was arrested Thursday at the nursing home where she works.
Nursing Home Patient Dies After Being Lit on Fire by Fellow Resident
A resident of a nursing home has died after his dressing which was being changed was ignited by a fellow resident during an argument last week. The 42-year-old victim was burned during an argument with a 72-year-old female resident Tuesday night, according to the coroner’s chief investigator. The suspect was hospitalized as well for unknown reasons.
Man Sent to Jail for Fondling Elderly Nursing Home Resident
A man who sexually assaulted a comatose woman in a nursing facility was sentenced this week to one year in Jail. The 49-year-old man pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct and being a four-time habitual felony offender. The man was visiting another patient in the nursing home in April when he closed the privacy curtains around an incapacitated 65-year-old woman and fondled her, according to police.
Nursing Home Compare Website Gets New Features
The federal government recently revamped its main online tool to help families better evaluate nursing homes. The “Nursing Home Compare” website now features 21 new criteria that measure the quality of care at nursing homes nationwide. The new criteria replaces a set of 17 old criteria and focuses on specific issues that affect many nursing home residents, such as pressure ulcers, infections, self-reported pain, falls, and general well-being.
