Nursing Home is Home to a High Number of Registered Sex Offenders

A nursing home that looks like a typical long-term care facility is actually home to a large number of parolees, including registered sex offenders.  According to the state sex offender registry, the facility’s address is listed as home to 27 sex offenders. Nursing Home Resident Found Dead 200 Meters From Facility

The daughter of a retired doctor found dead after going missing from a nursing home  says she is angry her father was allowed to walk out of the secured facility. Her father, 87, had severe dementia and diabetes which was controlled by regular medication. The retired doctor’s body was found at about 5pm Saturday in the backyard of an unoccupied property, just 200 meters from the nursing home where he had not been seen since Wednesday afternoon.

Nurse to Stand Trial For Fracturing Nursing Home Resident's Arm

A nurse accused of fracturing the arm of an 82-year-old nursing home resident and injuring another waived his right to a preliminary hearing last week. The 31-year-old nurse is charged with felony abuse of a resident resulting in physical harm or great psychological harm and misdemeanor abuse of a resident. Police arrested the nurse on April 20 after investigating the allegations that he grabbed two different residents forcefully by their arms causing injury.

Elderly Man Murders His Wife Before Taking His Own Life in Nursing Home

According to police an 81-year-old man shot and killed his 82-year-old wife, and then killed himself, at a nursing home.  The police chief says the murder-suicide happened last Tuesday at the Samaritan Health Center. The woman was a patient at the nursing home and her husband was visiting. The bodies were discovered by a care worker shortly after noon.
