According to the local news channel, WDBJ7, A Lynchburg man is  facing neglect charges following the death of his mother earlier this week. Nursing Home Employee Arrested For Stealing over $100,000.00 From Residents

A former nursing home employee was arrested today for the theft of $115,734 from the health and rehabilitation center where the 32-year-old man worked as the bookkeeper.  He was arrested at his home by agents of the Attorney General Medicaid Fraud Control Unit and the Sheriff’s Department. The man is charged with first-degree theft of property, a class B felony that is punishable by two to 20 years imprisonment and a fine of up to $30,000. Nursing Home Fined For Resident's Death Following Motor Vehicle Accident

A nursing home has been fined $10,000 after a traffic accident that contributed to a resident’s death. A 97-year-old resident died 12 days after a nursing home van in which she was riding was involved in an accident. According to state records, the accident happened on November 19th, while four residents of the home were being transported back to the facility from a town festival.
