A few nursing homes have recently been cited in one state for serious violations relating to patient care. One citation involved a patient who had a hypoglycemic incident sending her to the hospital because she had an incorrect does of insulin. Another citation involved a patient who died due to a medication error with blood thinning medication. Nursing Home Chain Owners Siphon Funds At 9 Times The Normal Percentage At The Expense Of Patient Care

Following a nursing home case investigation, it was discovered in findings of fact that nursing home owners of a nursing home chain were siphoning funds through companies they managed to offer auxillary services to the nursing home. An investigation that recently highlighted the fact that suspicious deaths are neither being reported nor investigated by a medical examiner has brought other statistics to the forefront. Family Opens Dementia Care Facility After Finding No Better Alternative

The family of a loved one diagnosed with early onset dementia has advocated along with their loved one to open up a new type of facility to meet the needs of dementia patients in an innovative way.
