An investigation is pending for eight nursing homes where 43 residents have received alleged neglect and/or abuse. The negligence cited let to the death of 12 of the residents. Police are searching for answers in these cases citing “serious safeguarding concerns”.Three people have been questoined in relation to the willful neglect.

A nursing home was fined $32,000 for allowing a patient to wander and ultimately die. The facility was originally fined $50,000. However, the facility did not contest the fine and waived its right to a hearing.
