Nurse receives probation after intentionally overmedicating nursing home residents

A former nurse was sentenced on Wednesday in connection with the deaths of six residents at a nursing home in 2006. The nurse received probation after six patients died from overdoses of morphine. The former nurse pleaded guilty to criminal neglect. There is also a pending civil lawsuit related to the nursing home deaths.

An investigation into the six suspicious deaths at the facility resulted in charges against the nurse and her supervisor. The nurse agreed to a guilty plea on one charge of criminal neglect if the five additional charges were dropped. She was charged with the felony neglect and sentenced to two years probation.
