Nurse Steals Medication From Patient, Destroys Records

A nurse was charged with theft and falsifying records after stealing medication from a patient. The medication was a blend of hydrocodone and acetaminophen. She took the drugs home and self-administered them after they were discontinued for the patient. 

In efforts to cover her actions, the nurse destroyed the medication administration record for the patient that would log the amount of medicine administered to the patient. After pleading guilty to the charges, she was sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge. For more, read the story
