A nursing aide was convicted of stealing thousands of dollars from two residents at a nursing home facility where she formerly worked. The charges included credit card fraud, forgery and larceny.
The crime was noticed when the son of one of the residents discovered that checks had been written on his mother’s account to someone he did not know. He was reimbursed for the stolen funds through his mother’s bank.
The former worker will have to repay the banks, the victims, and serve community service. Since she is from the Dominican Republic, she had to surrender her passport. The former nursing aide was also ordered by the judge to never again work in the nursing industry. For more, read the story.
