Nursing Assistant Charged With Assault And Battery Of Patient

Charges have been filed against a nursing home assistant for assaulting a dementia patient. Another nurse testified that the patient was struggling and hit her in the process. The nursing assistant facing charges allegedly drug the patient out of his wheelchair and into the hallway, pulling him by his hair.

The nursing assistant pleaded not guilty to the charges, saying he was pulling the patient by his shirt, not his hair. Testimony by the nurse observing the assault also revealed that the nurse assistant pulled the man by his arms and held them tightly.
