Nursing Home Abuse Cited For Lack Of Reporting

A nursing home was cited for an incorrect response to abuse. A patient accused a staff member of sexual abuse. However, the abuse was never reported to the state. In response, the administration of the nursing home facility banned the staff member from the patient’s room.

The staff member, who was also the assistant director of nursing confronted the patient, disregarding the ban. The staff member was later suspended and then fired. Administration told the state the patient did not want a police investigation so they did not report it. For more, read the story
