A nurse at a nursing home is facing sentencing of 60 days in jail for the mistreatment of an elderly person. A recent survey inspection identified that 3 of the 63 residents experienced physical or verbal abuse. The abuse residents included a patient who was targeted by four of the caregivers at the nursing home facility.
The state survey department verified that the nursing home facility had been cited for numerous issues, including failure to report abuse. The nurse has been removed from the right to serve in any care facility working with patients. For more, read the story.
