A former nursing home employee may spend up to 20 years in prison after being convicted of abuse of an elderly patient. The former employee struck the patient in the face, resulting in the loss of sight in one eye. The patient was rushed to the hospital after being struck, but doctors were unable to save her eyesight.
The patient suffered from dementia, but was able to testify in court. The former nursing home employee was also caught on camera entering the room four times in 17 minutes that morning. For more, read the story.
