Nursing Home Abuse Leads To Sentencing Of Employees

A former nursing home employee has been sentenced for abusing a patient at the nursing home where she worked. Along with another co-worker, she taunted the 76-year-old patient with Alzheimer’s. The patient was forced to punch himself in the face, while trying to fight off the two nursing assistants.

One convicted nursing assistant will serve 18 months in prison and five years’ probation. The other nursing assistant was charged with felony abuse and has yet to be sentenced. The patient who suffered abuse died just months after the incidents involving abuse were caught on camera by the patient’s son. For more, read the story.
