A nursing home that self-reports data for accreditation has come back with high marks. This has enraged the family member of a loved one whose father was abused at the same nursing home. The caregiver that abused the patient served jail time for the incidents caught on camera by the patient's daughter.
However, rather than a response of gratitude, the nursing home facility condemned the patient's family member for videoing the caregiver without knowledge. The nursing home even threatened legal action against her. The daughter will not give up her fight for accountability, having already gained 42,500 signatures on a petition calling for the right to install monitoring devices. For more, read the story.
