Nursing Home Abuse Surfaces After Hidden Camera Installed

The daughter of a nursing home patient was suspicious of abuse when she noticed scratches on her mother’s arms. Upon inquiring about them, she was told they were probably self-inflicted, however, they stopped appearing after she probed. With continuing suspicions, she approached state health officials to investigate.

Two years later, after installing a hidden camera, the woman found that her mother was in fact suffering abuse at the hands of her caregivers. The hidden camera exposed the abuse over a six week period. Now with proof of abuse, she is questioning the delay of the investigation. For more, read the story
