A nursing home administrator was fined $500 for hiding the knowledge of housing a convicted sex offender. The resident allegedly sexually assaulted a 95 year old resident as a child stood watching and crying, “No, no, no!” The sex offender had been convicted on four counts of sexual assault of children and had been transferred from the state Civil Commitment Unit for Sex Offenders.
Nursing home staff reported that the administrator had threatened to fire them from their jobs if they revealed the fact that there was a convicted sex offender in the home. The family of the assault victim is filing a lawsuit to ensure proper supervision of the resident to prevent future assaults. For more, read the story.
