Nursing Home Arbitration Agreement Rejected By Supreme Court

In a ruling by the Supreme Court, an arbitration agreement signed by a resident's son was not upheld. The original ruling in favor of the nursing home was appealed. The family filing a lawsuit against the nursing home was ordered to go through with arbitration to resolve any disputes.

The dispute arose from a nursing home patient who died after his son signed an arbitration agreement. The Supreme Court ruled that since the patient himself did not sign the agreement, the agreement would not be binding in his case. For more, read the story.
