Nursing Home Banned From Admitting Patients

A nursing home has been ordered to cease admitting patients after failing to respond to a patient suffering from a heart attack and another medical emergency. The other patients in the facility were deemed to be placed in immediate jeopardy according to the state department of health. The state is requiring immediate action to correct the violations currently in place and relieve the ban on on admissions. 

The state department of health had this to say, “The jeopardy finding is based upon the failure of facility staff to respond appropriately to a resident in respiratory and cardiac arrest” and “failure to provide specialized care in accordance to accepted standards of practice to another resident who was to receive oxygen.”  For more, read the story
