A nursing home patient died just days after a brutal beating by another a patient at the same nursing home. The family was shocked to receive a call she had been injured. Injuries included facial fractures, broken ribs, broken nose and a collapsed lung. After her death, the autopsy report revealed that the beating contributed to her death.
The incident is currently under investigation by police and the district attorney's office. “Their obligation is to protect the residents of the nursing home,” said a legal analyst about the case. “And it’s an obligation to make sure that when someone is sent to a nursing home, it’s not to send them there to die. It’s not a warehouse. It’s something that can give them the quality of life that they’re entitled to.” For more, read the story.
