Nursing Home Bookkeeper Sentenced For Theft And Computer Tampering

A former nursing home bookkeeper has been sentenced to 1 year probation and 16 month suspended sentence. Charges were brought for theft and computer tampering. The bookkeeper wrote checks from patient trust accounts in the amount of $4,068 using the nursing home computer system.  A routine audit identified the missing funds bringing an investigation. 

The bookkeeper pleaded guilty explaining that the checks were written to associates who cashed the checks for her. Additional charges were brought against co-defendants involved in the theft act against the elderly patients of the nursing home facility. For more, read the story
