Legislative officials in one state have approved a bill that would allow nursing home residents or their families more freedom to place camera’s in patient rooms. The legislation says people can’t be denied residence or kicked out of nursing homes if they or their families place cameras in their rooms. The bill passed the state House of Representatives without opposition this week. It now goes back to the Senate for further consideration.
The bill would allow nursing home residents the freedom to install cameras or other recording devices in their rooms if they would like to do so, as long as any roommates also approve. The facility would not be able to damage or obstruct the camera or resist its use. For more, read the story.
