Nursing Home Cameras Advocated In State's Bill

A nursing home bill is advancing after increasing stories of abuse have surfaced. The bill advocates the use of “granny cams” in one state. The cameras would be installed to observe the care of a patient in a nursing home facility. The debate related to the bill is whether or not a family member should be allowed to install the camera without the facility's knowledge.

Nursing home advocates for the quality of care for patients believe the cameras should be allowed to be installed without the knowledge of a nursing home facility if the patient fears any type of retaliation or jeopardized care due to the camera. Otherwise, the bill advocates that nursing home facilities should be made aware when cameras are installed. For more, read the story.
