A caregiver in one nursing home facility was charged after a fellow employee who was suspicious of elder abuse recorded video surveillance in the facility. The surveillance showed the first caregiver allegedly pushing a demented patient in the head then proceeding to eat the patient’s meal. According to the prosecution, the patient showed clear signs of hunger and dehydration, which the caregiver ignored.
According to the patient’s husband, the patient actually worked at the nursing home facility years prior to this incident. The victim’s husband knew his wife trusted that facility, and he felt like she would be happy and safe there. For more, read the story.
