Nursing Home Caregiver Caught On Camera

A nursing home employee was caught on a hidden camera abusing a patient after a patient's daughter decided to film the abuse. The patient's daughter was voicing concerns at the nursing home facility and did not receive support from her accusations, so she filmed the abuse. What she caught on camera earned the employee a suspension during the police investigation, a conviction and a jail sentence.

“There obviously needs to be the training and monitoring of the way in which people are employed and screened for employment, but I think we do need to give consideration for other technological measures,”  said a government representative. Unfortunately, the patient's daughter who filmed the abuse was sent a letter to cease and desist future filming. For more, read the story
