Nursing Home Caregiver Faces Felony For Patient Abuse

A nursing home caregiver has been charged with a felony of abuse of an elderly person. The patient involved in the incident was located near a door. He suffered from Alzheimer’s. Upon locating him there, the nurse struck him in the head several times after turning around his wheelchair.

The abuse was reported a month after the incident occurred. When the administrator was questioned about it, he said, he was “extremely busy with other duties.” If convicted, the caregiver faces up to 5 years in prison for the felony charge. For more, read the story.
