A nursing home caregiver guilty of repeat offenses of abuse is losing his professional license. There were numerous offenses including allowing a patient to wait two hours after first being asked before offering assistance to help the patient use the bathroom. Another offense involved sexual misconduct with a patient while putting them in a lift. In addition, another incident involved documenting he provided medication to a patient, when in fact he did not.
The review panel that first said it would be enough to offer a one-year suspension from nursing decided there was not enough remorse and decided to strike the nurse off the professional license registry. The panel believed that the accused nurse was minimizing his actions of neglect and abuse to his patients. Therefore, they increased the level of punishment. For more, read the story.
