Nursing Home Caregiver Sentenced To 18 Years For Murder Of Patient

A caregiver received an 18 year sentence for stuffing paper towels into the pressure ulcers of a patient. Medical professionals said it is “one of the worst cases of neglect they have seen.” The patient was sent to the hospital after the paper towels were jammed in the wounds.

The caregiver's ex-wife had licensed the caregiver's home to care for patients. The caregiver received the high-end sentence for murder and was the first case tried for murder since 2012. For more, read the story.
