A nursing home chain has been fined more than $570,000 in a series of citations of nursing home abuse. The latest accusation of more abuse came from video surveillance from a hidden camera in a patient’s room. The nursing home staff were recorded ignoring and ridiculing a patient that had fallen. Call lights were on down the hall with patients calling for help repeatedly.
The fines have come over a series of three years and the incidents involved patients infested with maggots and a patient that wandered with a faulty alarm bracelet, only to find that none of the bracelets in the facility worked. For more, read the story.
