Nursing Home Citations Lead To $25,000 Fine

A nursing home has been cited and fined $25,000 for allowing multiple patients to fall multiple times. The facility was cited with a fine at level A. The only level more serious is a level AA which means a death occurred. The falls involved fractures, a head injury. surgery, and hospitalization.

The nursing home did have proper fall prevention in place to prevent patients from falling and in turn getting hurt. Even so, attorneys for the nursing home are trying to settle the issue with the state department of health to avoid a full hearing. For more, read the story
