Nursing Home Cited For Patient Death

A nursing home has been cited with a Class AA citation resulting in a $100,000 fine. The citation followed the death of a patient who died at the negligence of the nursing home. The patient fell while transferring to the toilet. The nursing home failed to provide adequate supervision at the time. As a result, the patient was allowed to fall and suffered a head injury.

After the fall, nursing home staff told the family the patient was fine. However, the family noted the patient sweating profusely and unable to wake up. The family had the patient transferred to the hospital. The patient hit her head when she fell, which caused bleeding inside her skull. The patient died just six days later. The family stated the nursing home staff was aware of the patient’s struggle. For more, read the story.
