Nursing Home Cited With Immediate Jeopardy For Second Time

A nursing home found itself in “immediate jeopardy” for a second time following a citation and threat of immediate jeopardy that was lifted just five weeks earlier.  The recommendation was made “that the home’s civil penalty be raised from $250 a day to $6,050 (time period not specified).” If the level of severity was not raised, residents would potentially be forced to leave the nursing home facility due to loss of Medicare and Medicaid funding.  

“The findings have the home again working to draft and implement a plan that will need to be submitted to the DHHS for review.  It is  a substantial penalty and the second within a very short amount of time … that causes us great concern.” For more, read the story
