Nursing Home Closes Doors Due To Immediate Jeopardy Citation

A nursing home is closing after receiving the highest form of citation from the state health department. The facility was cited for placing a patient in “immediate jeopardy” when a patient was allowed to be assaulted by another patient. The patient suffered from dementia and was sexually assaulted by a resident with a “history of inappropriate touching of a confused patient”.

Because the facility received this high citation, it also lost its Medicare funding. The nursing home said it had no choice but to close its doors to nursing home patients as a result. For more, read the story.
